Goodwood
Goodwood is most famous, of course, for its horse racing, especially the Glorious Goodwood meeting in July each year.
But the other facilities at Goodwood have been invested in heavily in recent years and it is now a world class attractions. Goodwood House is a compact stately home with an interesting history. Guided tours are available.
Sporting highlights at Goodwood include the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival Meeting which are good fun even if you don't like motor sport.
Petrol heads can enjoy the Goodwood Breakfast Club during the summer, where interesting old cars are gathered together once a month, with the theme varying each time.
The golf facilities at Goodwood have been upgrading recently and there are two fine courses and a grand clubhouse too.
Lastly the Cass Sculpture Foundation contains a large collection of large modern sculptures by leading sculptors set in enchanting woodland and is well worth a couple of hours of anyone's time.
Further details are available at the official Goodwood website.
